The Israeli military said a Hezbollah drone struck a military vehicle in northern Israel on Thursday morning, injuring at least 12 soldiers, highlighting the growing threat posed by the Iranian-backed group’s drones.
The Israeli military said the drone struck an area near the town of Shomera on the Israeli-Lebanese border. Two soldiers were moderately wounded, while at least 10 others sustained minor injuries.

The Israeli military said it launched interceptor missiles at projectiles launched from Lebanon—both rockets and drones—at least four times on Thursday. The military added that most were “successfully intercepted,” but that “the results of intercepting a number of the remaining targets are under review.”
Hezbollah has increasingly relied on drones as an effective and low-cost means of targeting Israeli soldiers in southern Lebanon and northern Israel.
