The United Arab Emirates has banned its citizens from traveling to Iran, Lebanon, and Iraq, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs late Thursday.
The statement said, “In light of the current developments in the region, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces a travel ban for UAE citizens to Iran, Lebanon, and Iraq.”
The Ministry also urged all citizens currently in these countries to leave and return to the UAE as soon as possible.
The statement added, “As part of the UAE’s commitment to monitoring the situation of its citizens abroad and ensuring their safety, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes the importance of adhering to its instructions and warnings. It urges citizens currently in Iran, Lebanon, and Iraq to contact the Ministry, as part of the precautionary measures the country is taking to safeguard the well-being of its citizens.”
